Couples Therapy
Relationships can be some of the most meaningful parts of our lives, but they can also be where we experience some of our greatest difficulties. Couples may come to therapy because of a particular crisis or rupture, while for others there may be a gradual sense of distance, disconnection or repeating patterns that have become difficult to change.
Couples therapy offers a space to slow these patterns down and understand what may be happening between you. Rather than taking sides or deciding who is right or wrong, I work with both partners to explore how each of you experiences the relationship, what you may be struggling to communicate to one another, and the patterns that have developed between you over time.
Our work may involve exploring communication, intimacy, trust, conflict, significant life changes, cultural or family differences, infidelity, or questions about the future of the relationship. Sometimes the aim is to find a way back towards one another. At other times, therapy may help a couple think more honestly about what they each want and whether the relationship can continue.
My role is not to tell you what your relationship should look like, but to create a space in which both of you can speak openly, listen differently and develop a greater understanding of yourselves and one another.
